Grand Prairie Arts Council
Bringing the Arts to Grand Prairie for 30 years!

Printable version of Who Is GPAC?

Nothing touches our hearts and minds like the creativity of the Arts!

The Grand Prairie Arts Council is an independent, non-profit cultural arts organization. GPAC was incorporated in January 1979 to produce, promote and support the visual and performing arts in Grand Prairie. 40% of GPAC’s funding comes from memberships, donations and grants.

The Grand Prairie Arts Council is proud to be supported by the City of Grand Prairie, but is not part of the city government.

In 2010, through individual donations, grants, corporate sponsorships, and city support the Grand Prairie Arts Council will

The future is bright for the Arts in Grand Prairie!

GPAC has a renewed vision and energy for the Arts in our community with the opening of the Uptown Theater, a permanent home for theater productions of the Grand Prairie Arts Council. We are also celebrating the rental and ongoing renovations of GPAC’s own space at 116 East Main Street, right next door to the Uptown Theater. The GPAC Studio will serve as meeting, storage, workshop and classroom space for the Arts Council, as well as local artists and arts organizations.

The Arts Council will continue to expand cultural arts programming and cultivate local arts organizations so that the Uptown Theater, and venues throughout our community, will be filled with diverse arts events.
