Student Art Shows 

Grand Prairie Unity Coalition - Annual Student Art Contest            
Displayed at the Ruthe Jackson Center during the Annual Unity Banquet each year. GPAC supports the student art show, in conjunction with Grand Prairie Unity Coalition Banquet.
Theme: Embracing Unity. Entries are due Friday, February 3. Banquet and Art Exhibit are Wednesday, February 8.

Cinco De Mayo Festival - Student Art Show
Displayed in City Hall during the festival the first Satuday in May. GPAC supports the student art show. Sponsored through the GPISD and the Cinco De Mayo Committee. Entry information available from campus art teachers.

Student Scholarships

Grand Prairie Arts Council Fine Arts Scholarship
Deadline: May 1, 2012 (postmarked)
These scholarships are intended to reward fine arts students for past accomplishments and to encourage future pursuits. Awarded to a graduating student, residing within the Grand Prairie city limits, planning to pursue post-secondary education following graduation. Participants in Arts Council productions will be given special consideration. 

Amount: $1,000 (two may be awarded)

Grand Prairie Arts Council Volunteer Scholarship
Deadline: May 1, 2012 (postmarked)
This scholarship is intended to reward a student for volunteering for the Grand Prairie Arts Council. Awarded to a graduating student, residing within the Grand Prairie city limits, planning to pursue post-secondary education following graduation. Preference will be given to those students who have helped out over a year's time OR periodically over two or more years.
Amount: $1,000 (one may be awarded)

Summer in the Arts 2012
Want to inspire your child’s creative side this summer? Enroll them in the Grand Prairie Arts Council’s Summer in the Arts Program - 4 weeks of arts programming including 2 full-day weeklong workshops taught by professional artisans in the visual arts and music and a 2-week, full-day Musical Theatre Workshop.
Sessions run Mondays-Fridays, 9 am - 4 pm. Each workshop culminates in performances and exhibits.
